Dr. Amy Cerato is a geotechnical engineer and a Rapp Foundation Presidential Professor at the Gallogly College of Engineering. Her research interests include foundation design for alternative energy and predicting expansive soil behavior using microscale properties. Among her many accomplishments, Dr. Cerato is the recipient of the Gallogly College of Engineering Felgar Society Pursuit of Excellence Award and the Shamsher Prakash Prize for Excellence in Teaching of Geotechnical Engineering. Dr. Cerato has authored more than 60 technical papers and was featured on the “Yes! Science!” series, a show dedicated to profiling women and minority individuals in STEM fields.

An architect by training, Dr. Somik Ghosh received his MS in Construction Management from Michigan State University and Ph.D. in Environmental Design and Planning from Virginia Tech. Dr. Ghosh’s work has been published in over 50 journals and conference proceedings including the International Journal of Construction Supply Chain Management, the International Journal of Construction Education and Research, and the Journal of Pipeline Systems Engineering and Practice. He also serves as the guest associate editor of the International Journal of Construction Education and Research.
Marvin Laws is a practicing attorney, mediator, arbitrator, and educator specializing in mediating and arbitrating construction disputes. Prior to opening his own alternative dispute resolution firm, Mr. Laws was a partner at Hayes Magrini & Gatewood in Oklahoma City where he primarily worked on construction and design litigation cases. In addition to being invited to lecture with the Oklahoma Bar Association and the National Business Institute for continuing legal education, Mr. Laws has co-authored five books on topics concerning construction law.
Dr. John Paul Broussard is a CFA Charterholder, a Certified Financial Risk Manager, and a Professional Risk Manager. He is an award-winning educator with extensive international academic experience in Estonia, Finland, and the UK and served as a faculty member at Rutgers University for over two decades. Dr. Broussard’s current research explores high-frequency trading and the multivariate extreme statistical applications to portfolio management problems. His academic research has been published in Management Science, Institutions & Money, European Financial Management, Management Science, and the Journal of Financial Economics.
Dr. Lee Fithian is a practitioner, educator, and researcher specializing in linking interdisciplinary research and sustainable architectural design. She is the Director of OU’s Online MS in Sustainable Architecture, also teaching advanced seminars on net-zero buildings. With 25+ years of practical and governmental experience, she holds a patent for innovative urban air quality façade technology. Dr. Fithian co-founded the Oklahoma Sustainability Network and was the state’s first U.S. Green Building Council Chair. Her involvement in the International Code Council’s International Energy Conservation Code, AIA, and the Oklahoma Uniform Building Code Commission highlights her pioneering role in sustainable architecture and design education.
